Okay kids, this is highly experimental, still, but I'm trying to iron out the defects.
For now, here's a screenshot:

Interested?

I would be interested, but the image doesn't load (gives me the 'no image loaded' symbol) :/

I know, there's been some problem with the server and its DNS resolution. I hope now it's working.

Alrighty... here's the first version of the widget. I know it's got a potentially serious problem, but honest, it's an issue with the GraphicsPath.AddString method (i.e. Microsoft) and not my fault.
I'm looking into it (that's why it took me so long to post it), but there doesn't really seem to be a solution...
Oh well... have fun!

Okay, I think I got it now. Changed my approach completely to make this work, but I'm happy with the result.

Sneak peek:

and the widget itself here: XorBar 0.8

Please try it and let me know how it works.
Cheers!

I think I'm done with this here widget.

That's how it looks, in this final incarnation:

and the widget itself here: XorBar 1.0

Just download the file and unrar the contents into the LCDstudio directory. Run LCDstudio, open the configuration and enable the "Xor Bar" plugin. Exit LCDstudio. Re-run LCDstudio. It should be in the toolbox, under "spock Widgets".
Please try it and let me know how it works.
Cheers!

Fantastic! Tested it and works! Not a single problem. The only thing I could suggest, is having a default value when you click and drag the Xorbar into the view, as I didn't realise that it had created the item, and it was only till after I clicked the view did I see it Smile Even worked with my iTunesExtender plugin, so you can tell that data values from other plugins work with yours Smile

Yes, I have noticed that, but right now I'm bored to compile and upload a new version just for that. If I can think of anything else to add, then I'll add the "default value" as well.
I'm glad you like it, too. I really hope you enjoy using it, as much as I making it.
You're my only "client" now, it seems... Very Happy

Yeah, I've swapped my playing duration bar on my iTunes playing screen, with your Xorbar. Looks pretty fancy Smile
haha, yeah I know. Wish more people were active here; it's a program with using!

no, i kinda like it (a lot) just still need an idea how to utilize it...
the designs i use are too crowded to fit an xorbar with text in it... i use 2 pixels thick (thin) bars. Smile
but the idea is cool, it adds a lot of value to lcdstudio.

Off by one error?

On G15 ( yeah, i know!).

tried three of them in the middle of the design. I always end up with an extra row of pixels at the bottom.

Top two are my beloved 6px2bus font and the one below those 2 is Arial.

All have "center vertically turned on.

Cool control and it will let me make some improvements to my current design.

Great program and I appreciate all your work!

Umh... care to explain what you mean by "off by one error" and "extra row of pixels"? Is there a problem somewhere?

Sorry if it wasn't clear.

I can't get the text centered vertically - i always end up with an uneven number of pixels above or below the text.

Adjusting Alignment/Vertical to any of the three positions has no effect.

Ah, now I see.
Actually, there's not much I can do, since the alignment is performed by the framework itself, not me. I guess it has to do with the minuscule size of both the text and the container. Just understand that the alignment probably has to do with font size and the actual size of each font in pixels, so Windows are dealing with the rendering of the fonts. I just tell it what to render and the .NET framework is taking over from there.
However, I don't have a problem in my designs. Usually, by setting the alignment to "top" makes everything ok.
Cheers!
