yeah, did a search on my computer, found 2 different MSVCR80.DLL.
One in the company of heroes folder, copyed that and had the name with both lower-case and upper-case characters. None worked.
Also found one in the system32 directory, witch i copied and tried both lower and upper case. None worked.

Any specific MSVCR80.DLL you're after? Razz

not really but thats the only dependency i know of it needs thats not included in the installer. If you are brave enough you could use sysinternals filemon to figure out what dll it is searching for. I'm unable to reproduce on serveral systems here so i'm not much help either sorry

Hm, it seems to work fine here on the RTM build, just some small things that aren't hooked up, like Volume.Master doesn't seem to work

Whenever i restart my computer (running vista rtm), lcdstudio resets to it's old configuration, so i lose all the plugins i chose, and all the custom variables i've made. This is extremely anoying, and is why lcdstudio is currently uninstalled.

The configuration is saved only when LCDstudio is properly exited. Have you tried setting the configuration and completely closing LCDstudio, even from the tray?

Yeh, doing that would make it save so for the next time i open it up it's good, but restarting would still reset everything.

Also a few plugins fail to install every single time...

That sounds strange. However, I must point out what we've been telling you for some time now: the public build which you people have access to and are using is quite outdated. There have been numerous alpha builds after that one, with many bug fixes and features added. So, there's little point trying to debug such an old build.
Just be patient until a new build goes "beta".
Take care!

as mentioned before in this thread (doesn't anybody read anymore?! that includes you spock!) that both networkstats and extended time will not work on vista, this has been resolved in the current alpha version. So the next version *should* run fine on vista while the current beta does not. and again as said before I do not have an eta on the next release date cause I am kinda sidetracked by other projects.

Whoever mentioned networkstats or extended time here? The guy was saying that LCDstudio doesn't save his config!
Maybe you should read the above?
Hm, on second thought, no... stop reading and go back to coding! Razz

I just took a look at exactly what's happening under Vista RTM using Sysinternals Process Monitor (Filemon isn't supported on Vista).

Right before the Error Reporter is called, it fails at accessing MSVCR71.DLL

This is with LCDStudio 655 obviously, Vista Ultimate build 6000, the latest Logitech drivers, and basically nothing else. After drivers, Firefox, and Thunderbird this was my next priority to get working.

I'm now hunting for a copy of the file to test with and see if that fixes it.

edit: heh, found it right in the root of my media drive. Placing it in the LCDStudio folder solves the crashes, but it doesn't seem to be able to talk to the LCD properly.

edit2: restarting all the Logitech software seems to have done the trick, LCDStudio now works as well as could be expected given the couple of broken plugins.

edit3: Well damn, there's a lot missing from the functional plugins too. No CPU usage, no uptime, no CPU clock, etc. I see the official Logitech performance monitor is lacking CPU usage info as well. I assume if two different apps are broken that the change was in Vista but crap it is annoying. I needed to reformat and since I had a RTM license from my beta participation I figured I'd try Vista, but without my LCD working as expected I might end up dropping back to XP. The CPU and network graphs were my window in to my computer's performance.
